The "Scary Times" Success System

1. Forget about yourself, focus on others.
Uncertainty can drive people into themselves, making them feel isolated and helpless. The
best strategy here is to go in the opposite direction, expanding your connection with
others – focusing on helping them transform their negatives into positives. The more you
contribute in this fashion, the less you will need to worry about your own situation. You
will become a source of confidence for everyone else.
2. Forget about your commodity, focus on your relationships.
In uncertain times, people become frightened about the viability of their “commodities” –
the things they sell and the jobs they hold. A more strategic response here is to disregard
your own commodity and focus on deepening the power and possibility of all your
relationships – with family, friends, team members, suppliers, clients, customers, and
prospects. Every time you strengthen a relationship, the viability of your commodity will
increase.
3. Forget about the sale, focus on creating value.
Most people don’t like being sold at the best of times. When the future is less certain, they
turn off, hang up, and slam shut. But what people want at all times is value creation – that
is, solutions that help them eliminate their dangers, capture their opportunities, and
reinforce their strengths. When you focus on providing these three solutions, the sales will
naturally follow.
4. Forget about your losses, focus on your opportunities.
Things you had andmay have taken for granted sometimes disappear. Some people never
get over this. They keep trying to replay their old games. A better strategy is to start an
entirely new game – using new ideas, new energies, new tools, and new resources. As the
world changes, opportunities suddenly become available to achieve far more than you
ever did in the past.
5. Forget about your difficulties, focus on your progress.
Because of some changes, things may not be as easy as they once were. New difficulties
can either defeat you or reveal new strengths. Your body’s muscles always get stronger
from working against resistance. The same is true for the “muscles” in your mind, your
spirit, and your character. Treat this whole period of challenge as a time when you can
make your greatest progress as a human being.
6. Forget about the “future,” focus on today.
The “future” is an abstraction. It doesn’t exist except as an idea. The only future that has
any reality is the one that you continually create for your self through each day’s
contributions, achievements, and results. This is an excellent time to ignore all those
experts who never saw the present circumstances coming. Focus on what you can do over
the course of each 24 hours, and you’ll be the only expert on the future you’ll ever need.
7. Forget about who you were, focus on who you can be.
Many people define themselves by external circumstances. When these abruptly or
unexpectedly change, they don’t know who they are, so they keep trying to be who they
used to be. From now on, take your cues from the inside – from your dreams, ideals,
values, and operating principles. These need never change, regardless of the
circumstances. Take advantage of external confusion to become self-directed, selfmanaged,
and self-motivated.
8. Forget about events, focus on your responses.
When things are going well, many people think they are actually in control of events.
That’s why they feel so defeated and depressed when things turn bad. They think they’ve
lost some fundamental ability. The most consistently successful people in the world know
they can’t control events – but continually work toward greater control over their creative
responses to events. Any period when things are uncertain is an excellent time to focus all
of your attention and energies on being creatively responsive to all of the unpredictable
events that lie ahead.
9. Forget about what’smissing, focus on what’s available.
When things change for the worse, many desirable resources are inevitably missing –
including information, knowledge, tools, systems, personnel, and capabilities. These
deficiencies can paralyze many people, who believe they can’t make decisions and take
action. A strategic response is to take advantage of every resource that is immediately
available in order to achieve as many small results and make as much daily progress as
possible. Work with every resource and opportunity at hand, and your confidence will
continually grow.
10.Forget about your complaints, focus on your gratitude.
When times get tough, everyone has to make a fundamental decision: to complain or to
be grateful. In an environment where negative sentiment is rampant, the consequences of
this decision are much greater. Complaining only attracts negative thoughts and people.
Gratitude, on the other hand, creates the opportunity for the best thinking, actions, and
results to emerge. Focus on everything that you are grateful for, communicate this, and
open yourself each day to the best possible consequences

Can You Sponsor 100 New People in a week?

After a break during one of his Power Marketing Workshops, Big Al - Tom Schreiter, started off by asking how many people in the room could recruit 100 people in the coming week. There were about 60 people in the room and not one person raised their hand. Tom thought that this was interesting. He then pulled out his checkbook and pen, and then asked for a show of hands of how many people in the room could recruit 100 people in the coming week if he had a check made out in their name for $50,000 just waiting for them. This time about half of the people in the room quickly raised their hands. Tom showed mock surprise and asked them what had changed?

Several comments came back like - the money motivated them; $50,000 gave them an incentive, and so on. Tom suggested it was none of those reasons. He asked again what was it that caused people (from one minute to the next) to change their minds from “I can’t” to “I can”? There were several responses once more, and Tom again said that none of those reasons were acceptable.

Finally, he suggested that what had happened to half of the room that raised their hands was simply a change in ATTITUDE. Your attitude can be your best friend or your worse enemy. An “I Can” attitude is powerful and invigorating.

Zig Zigler says in his book “See You at the Top”, that an “I Can” attitude is the difference between the person who accomplishes and the person that does not. He suggests that whenever you have an idle moment that you write, “I Can” as many times as possible and to constantly think “I Can - I Can”. After enough concentration you can change your negative programming into a positive “I Can” attitude.

Now that you know this, you have absolutely no excuses - do you? So go out there and recruit 100 people this week and create the kind of income an “I Can” attitude can build for you!!

Tom Schreiter is best-known for his series of best-selling “Big Al” books and teaches regular MLM marketing training workshops throughout the US.

Hosting an Ardyss Home Showcase

You have decided to host an Ardyss home showcase and now you are wondering what you have gotten yourself into. There is no need to worry, whether it’s a Body Magic re-shaping or a discussion about the various products for you and your friends; it will involve a little planning, lots of fun and some easy income for you.

Step 1 Select a date and time that you can commit to hosting your Ardyss Showcase.

If it’s your first showcase, make sure the date and time will work for your sponsor. Weekdays in the early evenings are recommended times for a showcase. Many women will rather come to the showcase after work, then to go home and back out again. If you are going to select a weekend date, Sunday afternoon is probably best. Saturdays are usually packed with activities with the family, and the first day of rest for busy people.

Step 2 Go over your plans for the set up of the showcase with your sponsor or the Ardyss Independent Advisor who you will be working with.

Some Advisors give gifts to their guest, while others give discounts on product. Be clear on which one you will be doing so there is no confusion between you and your sponsor.

Step 3 Make an invite list and include everyone.

Over invite guests to guarantee that you have at least the number you need to fill the room. Unless you have a serious influence over the guest you are inviting, only expect about half to show up. Knowing that, invite six or seven guest if you need three to attend and invite twenty if you need ten guests to attend.

Step 4 Set aside a time to go over your guest list with your Sponsor.

Who is sending out the invites is a decision that you will need to make with your Ardyss sponsor, but remember, your sponsor benefits from your success. It might be a good idea if you want to maximize your results, to do three way invites to your guest. By doing three way invites with your sponsor, your sponsor can use their experience to influence your guest to attend.

Step 5 Prepare your house for the showcase

Your standard of living may not be the same as your guest. Make sure you go the extra distance to make your guest comfortable. If you have pets you should consider removing them from the house. Guest should not have to feel uncomfortable telling you they are afraid or allergic to your pet.

Have everything needed for a successful showcase already in place when your sponsor arrives. This way your sponsor can be focused on the showcase.

Step 6 Prepare light snacks, drinks and Music.

Heavy food is not necessary, but some guest will enjoy having light snacks to eat. Keep your drinks to water or other clear liquids. Serving clear liquids is a good idea in the event of a spill, there will be little damage to the hosts flooring. We highly discourage alcoholic beverages.

Step 7 Shadow your Sponsor

Make sure you are paying close attention to how your sponsor interacts with the guest, and presents the Ardyss products and opportunity. With good fortune, next time you will be the sponsor.

You must start on a firm Foundation

So you started in (Ardyss)Network Marketing and you thought it would be so easy to make money, Wrong!!!! The first mistake most people new to Ardyss International make, is they believe everyone will automatically see what they saw when they joined.

This is simply not the case. When you start your business you need to have a plan just like a traditional brick and mortar business. I always suggest you start your business with a vision, or what we call Vision casting. The majority of people who will sign up for your team, will do so not because they believe in the company or the products, but because they believe in you.

Therefore when you begin the process of looking for people to introduce to your business you should have some fundamental principles in place to share with them as the foundation of your team. The following is the principles I share with my Ardyss team members.

1. Know your Why

If you or the people you introduce to the business don't know "why" they want to do the business, they will never survive the ups and downs of this industry. When creating their why make sure it's in writing and you get a copy. Have them list their top five reasons why they have choose to do the business. This will serve you well, if the time comes when they are slowing down, or losing sight of their goals. You can simply pull out their why sheet and remind them of the reasons they started their business and ask them has anything changed.

2. What are you willing to sacrifice(for a season)

Whenever you start on a new path, you will have to make sacrifices. Most people already have a full life, so to introduce something new means something has to be eliminated. What I suggest people do is evaluate what is most important to them priority wise. Then eliminate the lowest ranking things. Those things generally are T.V. time, sports activities, or hanging out with friends. Now remember we said make the sacrifices for a season. That means you don't have to completely give these things up forever. Just long enough to dedicate the proper time to get your business started right. Once your business is up and running smoothly, you can start to bring some of the things you have sacrificed back into your life. I don't recommend your spouse be the first thing on your elimination list :-)

3. Find a Mentor

One of the things most people fail to realize is the importance of having a mentor or coach in anything they want to perfect. This is why almost all of the top performing athletes have coaches. Tiger Woods golf coach will probably never beat him at golf, but he can teach him how to play better by observing Tiger play. The thing a mentor/coach does is watch you from a far and evaluate what you are doing right or wrong, then help you correct,or better it. It is very hard for you to be out there going full speed and try to observe what you are doing. If you can't get a mentor, you can always listen to Cd's by top mentors. Most important about choosing a mentor is, make sure they have succeeded at what you want to do.

4. Plan your work and work your plan

Again just like starting a brick and mortar business, before you invest thousands of dollars into the business, you should have a business plan. In Network marketing the company(Ardyss) will provide you with a step by step plan to grow your business. What you have to do is read it cover to cover, not just once but several times. Remember your brain does not retain 100% of what you read the first time. An example is if you opened a McDonald's you would not have much success if you didn't learn how to work the french fry machine.

These are the four things I share with all my new team members to start their business on a firm foundation. I hope you will share them with your team members or think of some similar ones of your own.

I welcome your comments
